Anhydrous magnesium sulfate is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula MgSO₄. It is usually in the form of white powder or granules. It is a colorless orthorhombic crystal. It is soluble in water, ethanol, and glycerin . It has strong hygroscopicity, is easily soluble in water, and its aqueous solution is neutral. It has stable chemical properties and can decompose at high temperatures to produce products such as magnesium oxide and sulfur dioxide. Because it does not contain water of crystallization, it has higher requirements for moisture resistance during storage compared to magnesium sulfate heptahydrate.

Textile industry: It is used as a flame retardant and printing and dyeing auxiliary in the textile industry.
