How to use ferrous sulfate heptahydrate for water purification?
Choosing the right product is crucial to ensuring your customers receive a satisfying and functional user experience. The following guidelines can help you make the best choice
Water Purification Applications (Wastewater Treatment)
Used to remove phosphates, color, and heavy metals from water. The dosage should be calculated based on water quality indicators.
1.Preparation:
Dissolve ferrous sulfate heptahydrate into a 5%-10% aqueous solution (higher concentrations will result in precipitation).
2. Dosage Method:
For single use: Add directly to the wastewater tank, stir evenly, and allow to react for 30 minutes. Then, add lime to adjust the pH to 7-8 to form flocculent precipitates.
For combined use with polyaluminum chloride (PAC): Add ferrous sulfate first, then PAC. This will improve precipitation efficiency and reduce sludge production.
3. Note:
The iron content in treated water must meet discharge standards (≤0.3 mg/L). Excessive iron content will cause the water to turn yellow.
Wear gloves and a mask during operation to avoid direct skin contact (the aqueous).
